Through the enthusiastic recommendation of a friend, I purchased a Panasonic 950W NN-SD372S microwave oven. The very first thing I noticed in the appliance was its sleek stainless-steel makeover and shiny silver wrap. That said, when it comes to overall design and aesthetics, Panasonic has done a great job with the oven. With its modern look, it won’t look out of place in most of today’s kitchens and dining areas. It looks and feels really edgy, like something you’d see in a futuristic science fiction film. For sure, the oven is manufactured from sturdy materials as evidenced by the fact that it’s a bit heavy. If you hold it and shake it a bit, you won’t hear any of the rattling sounds you’d hear from ovens of lesser quality.
When it comes to actual functions, I have to say that the Panasonic 950W NN-SD372S has really impressed me. From the oven’s front interface, you can see the various features that you can take advantage of. I think the best thing about the appliance is the fact that it has fully embraced the Inverter Technology. What this means is that the heat developed inside the microwave is even and consistent. You are going to worry less about food being cooked in the outside while remaining uncooked in the inside. I verified this trailblazing technology by putting in a round of pie and waited for it to heat up and cook. When I got it out, it was indeed evenly cooked and the pie’s outer edges were neither overcooked nor burned.
I also found the oven’s auto-cook and auto-reheat features as very helpful. When you hit on the auto-cook button, the Panasonic 950W NN-SD372S will take care of the rest. It will automatically adjust its power levels as well as calculate cooking times depending on what you put into the oven. This feature works very well for items like pasta, potatoes, beverages, frozen entrees, and vegetables. This automated function can be very helpful if you are a very busy person. Just pop the food into the oven and it will do the rest for you.
Furthermore, I’m also very thankful that the manufacturers decided to embed into the oven a built-in child-safety lock. I have young children in the house who might get hurt if they knowingly or accidentally put their hands inside the oven while being used. With the built-in child-safety lock, there’s no need for me to worry. If you activate the child-safety lock, children can push on the buttons or open the door but the appliance won’t operate. Of course, you can always deactivate the locking mechanism any time you want.
The only thing I didn’t like about the Panasonic 950W NN-SD372S is that it’s not big enough for me. For sure, the oven is great for individuals and small families but I have quite a large family so I find it a bit lacking. But the size aside, it’s a really functional and features-filled microwave oven. Reading the reviews by others who availed of the oven, I found out that they have the same sentiments as mine. That is they loved it and the things that it can do.
